Hey guys,

The Golf 16v 5L33P3R has gone to it's new owner, and I have taken on the Atlas Grey Jetta that my my gave up on just over a year ago. She hit a pothole in Reading and the lower balljoint popped out of the OS wheel hub and tore the inner CV joint off the end of the driveshaft! Yes the whole joint, not just the boot

I still maintain she was overtaking an AMG round a corner and lost control of the powah drift but she denies all allegations  It's got a new balljoint, driveshaft and wishbone on there now.

Anyways, this is how she stands. I've been down recently to turn her over as she is now my new daily :) one new battery and an oil change later and she's doing ok. Piersburg carb is NOT FTW though.

Like the red pinstriping here. Might try to revive it.

Lacquer has cracked in a couple of places but generally paint is good.

Image
Changed rocker gasket when I did oil change as it seemed to be weeping out onto both manifolds (non cross-flow engine)

Inside there is more grey velour than a housewives jogging contest

Mum's kept it pretty tidy

All 4 sills are close to spotless too, which is a huge bonus for me:

That's about it really, no plans other than MOT and tax at the mo...but you know what I'm like. This is gonna help a lot:

JETTA FTW!

I think you should make it Hot Fuzz spec with red GTI badge and a bag of aviators in the passenger glovebox compartment. Oh, and be allowed to jump kick a granny in the face every time you get out of the car. :D

FRESHHHH.

I like the Jettaski though, what would your plug and play engine of choice be for MAXIMUM DRIFTO TECHANIQUE?!

teh 51G is l4m3. I will disable it.

I keep hearing about the Hot Fuzz Jetta, I will have to watch it!!11!!!11!!eleven

Engine wise, I are thinking something 'charged. I would like the spine pummeling feel of boost so I'm thinking more turbo than super.

20vt (Audi TT) for ease, or barn-baked VR6 with a GT35r for EXTREEMEEEMEE POWWWAAAAAA.

Let's just hope they don't let me use the uni workshops :drink: :drink:

The TT engine has a water pump with plastic impellers which tends to shatter on what >1000rpm so that's out.

Am now thinking a barn baked 16v turbo because the kr engine is easy and I've worked with them before, plus it's quite bulletproof if done right.

What do you guys think about colour schemes?

I think I am gonna go with the atlas grey but dabble a little metallic red into the mix: repinstripe the sides red, maybe gti grille with the red surround border, possible red/grey smoked rear clusters and anthracite grey and dark red engine bay colours...?

I'll see if I can find it.

cheers brother, would be good to read.

I've been into dubs since I don't know when, and the mk2 golf/jetta engine bay will take 10+ engines, but at the end of the day you gotta pic 2 of the 3 of these:

cost,

reliability,

performance.
