So far good news. Turns out the ignition on the MFi is stand alone so there shouldn't be the need to find a carb dizzy setup. Might just be a case of new manifold and carb. There is the standard production 2.8 carb manifold which will take a Webber but these are apparently hard to obtain.

Hmmm turns out the Offenhauser manifold came in two versions, USA and European spec. And guess which is increadably rare to find...

Good good. Glad to hear your getting somewhere then.
Reckon you should ditch the lude and get a nice practical 'Tina as a daily driver though. 4 seats, cavernous boot, plenty of retro street cred, all for the same sort of money as the Lude's worth! Oh, did I mention nice cheap insurance too....
Absolute doddle to mod/repair as well. And if you get the right one, free tax as well!
Gotta be worth a look into, surley???

Wish something like that nice red 318 (or whatever it was) would come up right now - could do with a car!

Neither interest me pog - rules its gotta be next to no maintainace, be at least a 1.8, - had a go in my mates 1.6 16v astra this afternoon, as there are plenty cheap and it was pretty gutless, nothing bigger than astra sized and gotta be pretty clean - ive had my share of sheds
