I'm trying as hard as possible to avoid singing up to Detailing World Picked up a new car on Monday (Mk7 Fiesta) and thought probably best to actually take care of the paintwork on this one! I've heard that Collinite 476s is the wax to go for to get all out protection, is this still the case? Also, what's the best way to apply it? Do I need to use one of those foamy applicator pads and then rub the wax off with a microfibre? I'm clueless, I know

Mmmmmm Colly...
I'm no expert on paint preparation but if there aren't any real defects on your brand spanking new paintwork - no orange peel etc. - then I would just slap on afew coats of Colly for sure!
You'll need a sponge pad to apply and then I use quite a soft microfibre to buff it up. You can keep layering it up as well and with it being waxy not chalky you shouldn't run into any problems with marks on rubber or black plastic...
I think Chris did 4 or 5 layers of the stuff on his 'kee, but unless you're planning on offroading your Fiesta I'm sure a couple of good coats will see you through the winter!

I concur. Unless the paint is a mess leave it be and apply colly over the top.

Applied the Colly yesterday, is it wrong that I now want it to rain?!

I find dribbling a hose pipe over the bonnet for a few minutes is enough to give you the warm Colly glow inside. Just beware you don't put the hosepipe back, look up at the sky and shout "Fuck you weather! Do your worst!" as people might think you a little mad...
