I think it would be certainly best to go digital John, your SLR lenses should work, they'll just be a slightly longer focal length. Might need a body with a wide dynamic range though as daytime shots in Dubai are going to be very high contrast!

I've only ever used the PC port on mine as I've only used them with my flash heads, I literally just have them hanging off the back of the head by the sync leads.

It's because it's essentially a new industry, off camera flash use, especially wireless is still in its infancy. If you were working with studio flash heads you'd be finding it easier to source bits.

It's OK, you don't have to defend the photo so much, I was just trying to help further justify returning that umbrella, as the shot did indeed look like a bare flash one. I've just checked my stand/umbrella adapter and it's the same issue with no locking mechanism, I'll just wedge something in mine ...

Is that ladder shot with the umbrella, because if so you aren't getting much diffusion there at all??
